Rules are here so that things don't become absolute chaos. They are not a shackle to hinder your role-playing, but a guideline so that we can all prosper, and role play happily
We (the staff) work on a 3 strike policy. If you have broken a rule, you will be notified, and it will be recorded you have one strike against you. Three strikes, and you will be expelled from the RPG. Strikes can be redeemed (removed from your record) however. You can have 1 strike redeemed if you behave 6 months without further infractions of rules. Another infraction will result in the count starting over from the second infraction.
1) Obey me(Brian) and my staff. You ignore us you get kicked out simple as that.
2a) No god-moding, or meta gaming (No characters are all powerful or perfect, do not play them as such). The staff has final say on what is and what is not God-moding/Meta-gaming. We see that it is better start out weak in special abilities and stuff. This way, you have a chance for your characters to grow, and learn new things.
2b) Auto hitting a type of god moding where player A takes control of player B's character with a hit that is "unavoidable". Making hits like this not only makes Player B angry but is mostly pointless as normally player B will react accordingly to the attack. So Players may not just walk up and hit another player character without leaving some margin of escape. An example of this is * Red bashes Slates head into a bloody pulp* DON'T DO THAT! do this * red swings his mace over head aimed straight at slates skull * (note) this rule does not apply to minor NPC's or non playable characters.
3)No player may kill another without their consent or the consent of the head admins of ffs. In such cases as where a character has become a "fugitive" for his/her personal actions against socety or an act of simmiler importance. The head admins will give an ok to kill this character and after takeing a sevear loss in ability and moved to a new group the character can start again one more time. Killed for this reason twice will result in the characters complete death.
4) NO HENTAI or otherwise ADULT CONTENT. Character Relationships are acceptable, as are normal displays of affection such as kissing, hugging, or light touching. What is not acceptable are graphic displays of a sexual nature. Yaoi/Yuri(homosexual relationships) are quite acceptable. I(Andrew) whole heartily encourage Yaoi. Although, because some people are less open-minded than others, if you are shot down you can't keep hitting on a character. This, unfortunately, only applies to homosexual relationships.
5 ) Don't flame other players, for any reason. Characters can be enemies, or not like each other, but that's the characters. Flaming others will cause us(the staff) to look at your activities more closely, in a harsher light, and you may get in trouble for something we would have otherwise ignored. Flaming also counts as two strikes. And don't be afraid to report someone flaming you outside the board for stuff on this RPG. We're not gods, and we can't get them to leave you alone, but we'll try and work something out. Or give them two strikes, and possibly the boot.
6 ) Have fun (note: this is more a "Gag" rule. If you don't have fun, we won't add a strike on you...but if someone is bullying you, or harassing you, let us know. We'll try to solve the problem) and know that rules are subject to change at any time.
7a ) A character may not multi-class this means having a warrior have magic abilities or mage having warrior abilities. there will be no mixing of these two classes in a single character.
7b) A Character may switch over to a new class. This process is a long road and as you learn skills in the new class you will lose skills in your old one. Once this process is started it cannot be stopped or reversed.
7c) To change class you must select a character of the class and similar physical aspects meaning a puny elf could not learn heavy arms techniques from a northman to be your master. First the player of the character must consent to the long amount of time your characters will be essentially inseparable then to put this master up to the staff to decide if the character is skilled enough to be a master. You may only have 1 master there will be no mixing of styles and in the case of a warrior this means you can only learn the weapon proficiency of the master and a mage will be the magic type of the master. After a long time with your master slowly learning the basics of the opposing class you will finally be allowed to pursue A closely related style of fighting though RPGing like any other skill on the RPG. This also means upon completing the basics your old skills will no longer be valid so the proper profile change should be ready to take the old ones place.
